PRIVACY POLICY

Last Updated: April 23, 2026

1. INTRODUCTION

Welcome to Smart Metronome ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that any information related to your use of the App is handled securely and responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our mobile application (the "App").

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please stop using the App immediately.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Smart Metronome is designed to respect your privacy. The core functionality of the App — including the metronome, tempo control, time signatures, subdivisions, tempo trainer, and built-in mini-games — does not require you to submit any personal content, audio recordings, or files. The App generates metronome sounds locally on your device and does not upload user audio or media to any server.

We do not collect personal profile data such as your name, address, or contact information. We collect only limited technical and analytics information necessary to operate the App, improve reliability, and understand how features are used.

Technical and Analytics Data:

  • App interaction events, such as buttons pressed, features opened, tempo ranges used, and sessions played.
  • Mini-game interaction events, such as when a game is started, completed, or exited.
  • Crash reports and error logs to improve App stability.
  • In-app purchase events (processed securely through platform stores).
  • Device information, including manufacturer, model, operating system, language, and advertising identifiers (IDFA or GAID) where available.
  • Performance metrics such as load times and diagnostics.
  • A non-identifying app/user identifier used for product analytics and App improvement.

Permissions:

  • Internet Access: Required to run analytics and crash diagnostics, and to deliver in-app purchase receipts.
  • Notifications (optional): If granted, used to deliver practice reminders or informational messages related to the App.

Smart Metronome does not request access to your microphone, photo library, contacts, or location for its core metronome and mini-game features.

3. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

We use trusted third-party services to measure app usage and improve reliability. Data shared with these providers is limited to technical and analytics information necessary for these purposes.

These services may include:

  • Mixpanel – product analytics and event tracking, used to understand how features of the App are used and to guide product improvement.
  • Google Analytics and Firebase Analytics – usage insights and performance tracking using technical/app identifiers and event logs.
  • Firebase Crashlytics – crash reporting and diagnostics.
  • Apple App Store and Google Play Store – secure processing of any in-app purchases.

These third-party providers follow their own privacy and security standards. We require that service providers handling data provide appropriate protection measures. We encourage you to review their policies for details.

4. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the App, including the metronome and built-in mini-games.
  • To measure overall App performance and feature usage.
  • To identify bugs, crashes, and stability issues.
  • To analyze anonymous usage patterns and improve the user experience.
  • To deliver in-app purchases and subscription entitlements where applicable.
  • To ensure compliance with platform and legal requirements.

5. DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION

  • Service Providers: Trusted vendors assisting with analytics, crash reporting, or App performance monitoring, such as Mixpanel, Firebase, and Google Analytics.
  • Legal Obligations: When required to comply with a court order, law, or government request.
  • No Selling of Data: Smart Metronome does not sell, rent, or trade your data with any third party.

6. DATA RETENTION

Because the core functionality of Smart Metronome does not require submission of audio or personal content, no such data is stored in our systems.

Technical and analytics data collected via third-party analytics tools (such as Mixpanel, Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics) may be retained by those providers according to their respective retention policies for product improvement and reliability monitoring.

In-app purchase records are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and are retained according to their respective policies.

7. USER RIGHTS (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you are entitled to specific rights regarding your personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Right to be informed.
  • Right of access and rectification.
  • Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten").
  • Right to restrict processing and object to data use.
  • Right to data portability.

While Smart Metronome primarily collects non-personal technical and analytics data, you may still contact us to exercise your rights or to request deletion of analytics data associated with your device. Requests can be sent to support@stellup.co.

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Smart Metronome is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children. If you are under 13, please do not use the App or provide any personal information.

If you are between 13 and 17 years old, you may only use the App with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. If we become aware that data has been collected from a minor without consent, we will delete it immediately upon notification.

9. IN-APP PURCHASES

All payments are processed securely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Smart Metronome does not collect or store any billing or payment information. Please refer to the respective platform's privacy policies for more details.

10. UPDATES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons. The updated version will be posted within the App and include a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the revised policy.
