PRIVACY POLICY

1. INTRODUCTION

Welcome to Stems Lab: Vocal Remover AI ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal information is handled securely and responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App").

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please stop using the App immediately.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Stems Lab: Vocal Remover AI is designed to respect your privacy. We do not collect personal profile data such as your name, address, or contact information for audio processing. We collect only the data necessary to provide audio stem separation and improve app reliability.

Audio Data (Core Service Data):

  • Audio content provided by you for processing, including audio extracted from a selected video, an audio file selected from your device, or audio retrieved from a URL you provide.
  • We process only the audio portion of selected media files. Video content itself is not processed as video data.

Technical and Analytics Data:

  • App interaction events, such as buttons clicked and features used.
  • Crash reports and error logs to improve App stability.
  • In-app purchase events (processed securely through platform stores).
  • Device information, including manufacturer, model, operating system, language, and advertising identifiers (IDFA or GAID).
  • Performance metrics such as load times and diagnostics.
  • A separate app/user identifier may be logged for product analytics and app improvement through Firebase Analytics.

Permissions:

  • Microphone and Storage/Files Access: Required to import, process, and export audio content selected or created by users.
  • Internet Access: Required to upload audio for cloud processing, return processed stem results, and run analytics/crash diagnostics.

What Is Sent and Who Receives It: When you choose to separate a track, the App uploads the audio you selected (an audio file, the audio extracted from a video, or audio retrieved from a URL you provide) to servers operated by us. Google Cloud (Google LLC), our cloud infrastructure provider, stores the uploaded audio and the generated stems so they can be delivered to your device. No other audio data is sent to any other third party. Audio is uploaded only when you start a separation; the App does not upload audio in the background.

Service Use and Acceptance: Cloud audio processing is a core function of Stems Lab: Vocal Remover AI. By starting a separation, you acknowledge and agree that the audio you selected will be transmitted to our servers and to our cloud infrastructure provider (Google Cloud) solely to provide the App’s core stem separation functionality, as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this processing, you should not use the separation feature.

No Third-Party AI Services; No Model Training: Stems Lab does not send your audio to any third-party AI service or AI provider (such as external AI APIs). Stem separation is performed by our own AI model, developed by us and running on our own servers. We do not use your audio, the generated stems, or any other user content to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI model, ours or anyone else’s.

3. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

We use trusted third-party services to provide core audio processing and improve reliability. Data shared with third parties is limited to what is required for these purposes.

Examples include:

  • Google Cloud (including Google Cloud Storage) – our cloud infrastructure provider. It is used for temporary storage of uploaded audio and generated stem output so that you can download the results to your device, and as backup infrastructure for our own processing system. Google acts as a service provider on our behalf and does not use this data for its own purposes.
  • Google Analytics & Firebase Analytics – usage insights and performance tracking using technical/app identifiers and event logs.
  • Firebase Crashlytics – crash reporting and diagnostics.

These third-party providers follow their own privacy and security standards. We rely on service providers that offer the same or an equal level of data protection as described in this Privacy Policy, including contractual data processing and security commitments. We encourage you to review their policies for details, including the Google Cloud Privacy Notice and the Google Privacy Policy.

We do not use third-party AI services to process your audio or any other personal data.

4. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the App.
  • To process submitted audio and generate stem separation results using our own AI model.
  • To deliver processed stem results back to your device.
  • To improve user experience and overall performance.
  • To analyze usage patterns and identify bugs or issues.
  • To ensure compliance with platform and legal requirements.

Your audio and generated stems are used only for the purposes above. They are never used to train AI models, for advertising, for profiling, or for any other purpose.

5. DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION

  • Service Providers: Google Cloud, which provides cloud infrastructure for temporary storage and delivery of your audio and generated stems, and vendors assisting with analytics, crash reporting, or app performance monitoring. We do not share your audio with any third-party AI service.
  • Legal Obligations: When required to comply with a court order, law, or government request.
  • No Selling of Data: Stems Lab: Vocal Remover AI does not sell, rent, or trade your data with any third party.

6. DATA RETENTION

When you use cloud stem processing features, the audio you submit is uploaded to our servers and to Google Cloud Storage, processed by our own AI model, and the resulting stem files are made available for you to download to your device from Google Cloud Storage.

Submitted audio and generated stems are deleted from our systems and from Google Cloud Storage after you download the results, and in any case within seven (7) days of upload, even if the results were never downloaded. We do not keep your audio or generated stems beyond this period, and we do not create permanent copies, archives, or training datasets from them.

After delivery, stem results can continue to be stored and used on your device.

Technical and analytics data collected via third-party analytics tools (e.g., Firebase, Google Analytics) may be retained by those providers according to their respective policies for product improvement and reliability monitoring.

7. USER RIGHTS (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you are entitled to specific rights regarding your personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Right to be informed.
  • Right of access and rectification.
  • Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”).
  • Right to restrict processing and object to data use.
  • Right to data portability.

While Stems Lab: Vocal Remover AI primarily collects non-personal data, you may still contact us to exercise your rights or request deletion of analytics data. Requests can be sent to support@stellup.co.

8. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Stems Lab: Vocal Remover AI is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children. If you are under 13, please do not use the App or provide any personal information.

If you are between 13 and 17 years old, you may only use the App with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. If we become aware that data has been collected from a minor without consent, we will delete it immediately upon notification.

9. IN-APP PURCHASES

All payments are processed securely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Stems Lab: Vocal Remover AI does not collect or store any billing or payment information. Please refer to the respective platform’s privacy policies for more details.

10. UPDATES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons. The updated version will be posted within the App and include a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the revised policy.
